Broadcast of the Year
“Great angle on a story that too often is not highlighted by the media - how China's state subsidies has reshaped global supply chains and the trade accounts. A well-sourced, edited and balanced example of in-depth journalism. It tackles something everyone has heard of (electric cars) in a way that is accessible to the listener. There are lots of sources who all add to the story and it's well researched and presented.”
WINNER:
Electric Car Shock, Nick Holland, BBC Radio 4
Congratulations to Nick Holland and the Radio 4 team for finding a great angle on a story that too often is not highlighted by the media - how China's state subsidies has reshaped global supply chains, especially in the growing market for electric vehicles. “This was a well-sourced, edited and balanced example of in-depth journalism. It tackles something everyone has heard of (electric cars) in a way that is accessible to the listener”, said one judge. The judges also commended the way the programme skilfully managed a large and diverse range of sources who all added to the story.
