Pensions Journalist of the Year (Consumer)
The Telegraph's Lauren Almeida collects her trophy from Pete Glancy, Head of Pensions Policy at Scottish Widows and awards host Ayesha Hazarika MBE
WINNER :
Lauren Almeida, Telegraph Media Group
The consumer pensions category shortlist was very strong this year and the judges found it hard to select a winner. Eventually, they agreed Telegraph Media Group’s Lauren Almeida should receive the trophy.
“Excellent pieces on topical issues,” commented one judge. “The piece about the impact of inflation on the difference in value of public sector and private pensions was of particular note – this gap is an issue which is not discussed enough,” said another.
Highly Commended:
Tanya Jefferies, This is Money
Recognition must also go to Tanya Jefferies of This is Money, who came very close this year. As one judge said, “All three stories impressed me – informative, strong, emotive, and well-researched.”
Shortlist
Lauren Almeida, Telegraph Media Group
Jessica Beard, Money Mail, The Daily Mail
Tanya Jefferies, This is Money
Laura Purkess, for work at Money Mail, The Daily Mail
Lily Russell-Jones, The Times and The Sunday Times
