On behalf of Chiara Cavaglieri, Which? Money, Jenny Ross collects the trophy from Paul Addison, Head of External Affairs at Yorkshire Building Society and awards host Kerry Godliman
Winner: Chiara Cavaglieri, Which? Money
In this category, the first round of scoring meant the judges had lots to discuss during a lively session. After a second round of adjudication, it was Chiara Cavaglieri who emerged victorious.
As one judge commented, Chiara submitted “three strong pieces, very much in the Which tradition – painstaking research. strong consumer guidance and a campaigning message for change”. Another added that “Chiara writes clearly and eloquently, providing clear help to readers and winning consumers’ money back”.

As a building society we’re run differently from a bank. We don’t have external shareholders to satisfy, instead we’re here for the benefit of our members. The money we earn is given back to our customers in interest rates, goes towards paying for the service we provide or gets re-invested to build a stronger society for the future.
We’ve built our strategy around our purpose of providing Real Help with Real Life.
For us that means delivering three central ambitions: helping people to have a place to call home and helping them towards greater financial wellbeing, whilst creating long-term value for our members.
