WINNER: FELICITY HANNAH, FREELANCE, FOR WORK ON BBC MONEY BOX AND CHANNEL 5

Judges managed to halve down the initial shortlist of six journalists to a more manageable trio after the first wave of scoring which is when the really serious deliberations began. A consensus eventually emerged, so it’s a case of hearty congratulations to Felicity Hannah who scoops the honours for 2020.

“Felicity has a very clear presenting style coupled with authority and knowledge. Her tone and delivery is spot on for the audience and she is very adaptable to different formats. A worthy winner,” one judge commented. “Felicity’s role as a broadcaster is developing really well. Not only is she a relaxed, fluent and confident presenter, she’s also very adept at putting interviewees at their ease. The child benefit loans piece was particularly strong,” a second judge remarked.
