WINNER:

Lily Russell-Jones, The Times and The Sunday Times

A strong shortlist for this category resulted in a variety of views from the judges going into the panel discussion, with three contenders close to the top. After a lively debate, Lily Russell-Jones from The Times and The Sunday Times was agreed upon as the winner.

Judges highlighted Lily’s “creative flair”, particularly impressed with her article My day out spending Bitcoin . “Nice angle,” said one judge. “This article drew together the complication of Bitcoin with everyday reality, in a consumer and reader friendly piece." "Lily has a sense for stories which are both timely and topical,” commented another.
