Congratulations go to Jen Frost, now claiming the crown in this category for four years in a row. Judges unanimously agreed Jen’s “boldness” and “high-calibre journalism” made her difficult to beat.
Praise was given to Jen’s capacity to “provide new angles and perspectives on existing issues and tread new ground on often covered topics, backed up by detailed research”, and were impressed by her ability to “handle difficult and sensitive subjects with skill and sensitivity”.

Judges were also keen to recognise the work of freelancer Edmund Tirbutt, particularly highlighting his piece on trail hunting insurance. “A very interesting and underreported area,” said one judge. “This was an interesting, novel topic, researched from various angles and compellingly packaged together,” added another.
