Local/Regional Journalist of the Year
On behalf of Chris Burn, The Yorkshire Post's Greg Wright collects the trophy from Paul Keeble Head of Media and PR at Canada Life and awards host Ayesha Hazarika MBE
WINNER:
Chris Burn, The Yorkshire Post
After the online scoring stage, two entries stood out in this category. Choosing between them took the judges a little time but in the end, Chris Burn of The Yorkshire Post was confirmed as the winner.
“The submission shows a real breadth of expertise,” said one judge. “Chris clearly has that knack of finding stories that not only resonate regionally but nationally too,” added another.
Highly Commended:
Peter Ranscombe, Freelance (Scottish Field)
In an extremely close category, the judges were keen to recognise Peter Ranscombe’s excellent work in 2022. “His writing style has a light touch, giving the impression you're listening to a friend who knows more than you,” explained one judge.
