Outstanding Achievement Award

On behalf of Tony Hazelll, Money Mail's Victoria Bischoff collects the trophy from Sarah De Lagarde, Global Head of Communications at Janus Henderson Investors and awards host Kerry Godliman

Winner: Tony Hazell, Daily Mail

The winner of this year’s Headlinemoney Outstanding Achievement award has been fighting for the rights of consumers for over three decades.

His career has encompassed campaigns, scandals, stock market crashes, bank failures and financial crises. He has won back millions of pounds for readers who have been treated appallingly by financial firms.

This highly respected financial journalist learned his trade at the knee of Margaret Stone, before taking over from her as Money Mail editor in 1999 and then taking the reins as consumer champion in 2011.

He has persistently fought for readers, advocating against companies that refused to listen to them.

This year, as he steps down after 32 years at Money Mail, we’re delighted to recognise Tony Hazell as the winner of the Headlinemoney Outstanding Achievement award.
