This category developed into an extremely close-run affair, with three of the five shortlisted names in with a chance of winning the award after the judges completed their initial set of scores. Once they got together to scrutinise the entries in greater detail, however, it was Ruby Hinchliffe’s submissions that eventually prevailed.
Ruby really “showcased the impact of her work - both for customers and by turning over rocks in the industry”, said one judge. “She demonstrated her efforts to go beyond writing up press releases and do 'real' journalism – her submissions were all well-written work,” said another.
