Rising Star of the Year (B2B)

Citywire Wealth Manager's Christopher Johnson collects his trophy from Lee Blackwell, Director of Communications at Key Group and awards host Kerry Godliman

Winner:  Christopher Johnson, Citywire Wealth Manager

This category, which is often a stepping stone in the money media, was open to all journalists who started in financial B2B journalism after January 2020 The strong field of new-ish journalists in the category sparked plenty of debate amongst the judging panel. In the end, it was Citywire Wealth Manager’s Christopher Johnson who won through.

Christopher “really brings his personality to his writing”, commented one judge. He submitted “well-written articles covering some sensitive topics” with “good use of data from various sources giving the pieces a sense of authority”. Overall he has “lots of potential”, said another.

Highly Commended:  Lois Vallely, Money Marketing

Recognition should also go to Money Marketing’s Lois Vallely who one judge observed “has obviously made an impact in the market in a short period of time”. “The consolidator feature was particularly good; well-researched, pressing hard on the right issues and very well written,” said another.
