B2B Journalist of the Year 2026

Winner

Emma Ann Hughes, Insurance Post

This was an exceptionally difficult category for the judges to decide, with two very strong competing entries from journalists on the same title. It was Emma who came out on top with a powerful selection of articles, including a comment piece that pulled few punches in holding her readers to account.

Judges praised how Emma “takes the issues of the day and turns them into exciting, relevant, informative b2b journalism”. Her skilful inclusion of the perspective of the insurance industry’s customer on complex and controversial issues such as PFAS [forever chemicals] was also well regarded: “The PFAS piece is an excellent read with the involvement of business insurance customers and companies on what they face with PFAS.”

Highly Commended

Harry Curtis, for work at Insurance Post

Harry’s submission included a series of varied, well-researched articles on imaginative topics, full of fresh angles and widely praised by the judges as: “excellent, engaging and far-thinking work.” The range of articles was a particularly strong feature for the judges, commenting on the “valuable insight into large-scale restructuring, good big interview, a topical growth area – space – and bringing in a customer experience focus”.
