Winner

Patrick Hosking

After over two decades at The Times, Patrick recently left his role as Finance Editor, after previously serving as Banking Editor and Investment Editor.

His earlier work included time at the Evening Standard and the New Statesman, and over a long and illustrious career, he has provided thoughtful insights and opinion across investments, business and the machinations of the City. Patrick guided readers through complex issues from pensions and market regulation, asset and wealth management, to economic policy, all with “precision, integrity, and insight”.

Described by industry insiders as “unrivalled” his reporting is distinguished not only by technical expertise, and balance arguments, but by “...a rare ability to make intricate financial matters accessible and relevant to a broad audience. In doing so, he has played a vital role in improving public understanding of financial services issues that affect millions”.

Patrick has demonstrated a deep commitment to public-interest journalism and his long-standing contribution to financial reporting makes him a very worthy winner of the Headlinemoney Outstanding Achievement Award.
