Winner: Lindsell Train bagged £14.5m of performance fees with gilt benchmark by Jessica Tasman-Jones, Portfolio Adviser

In terms of their initial scores, two potential contenders emerged early on from the B2B shortlist. After a lively debate, the judges awarded this year’s trophy to Jessica Tasman-Jones for her story highlighting performance fees.

“This is a trade story that the nationals should have followed up,” said one judge. “A really interesting spotlight on performance fees, from a journalist who always places the investors' interests at the heart of what she does. Jessica is an incisive and persistent journalist, and has achieved an outcome from the LTIT Board,” commented another.

Highly Commended: Our adviser deserved a seat at our wedding after what he did (How a UK planner helped a struggling couple achieve their dreams) by William Robins, Citywire New Model Adviser

Commiserations to Will Robins who misses out this year. One judge said his article highlighted “the positive side of advice, and how it can be accessible and have such an impact. Perhaps if there were more articles like this, more people would feel encouraged to seek advice”.
