Judges complemented her “unmatched bravery” and “hard-hitting professionalism”, admiring her ability to deliver “a good combination of human elements and delve into the subject matter”. “I love the way she weaves in personal stories, with a really forensic look at the economics of personal finance,” said one judge.

Coming close to the top spot this year was Holly Mackay from boringmoney.co.uk. Judges felt Holly’s entries were “refreshing, offering a human take on finances”. “In her relatable, easy-going way she covered a lot of ground,” said one judge, impressed with her “ability to engage listeners”. “Holly clearly knows her audience and pitches her interviews accordingly,” said another.
