Winner:  Women’s underpaid state pensions , This is Money

This new category in the Headlinemoney Awards offers titles the opportunity to showcase their best campaign work from 2021. In a competitive and varied field of campaigns, three stood out after the scoring phase. In the end, the judges decided that the inaugural award should go to This is Money for their well-written, engaging and effective campaign on women’s underpaid state pensions.

“An excellent campaign, one that took aim at a massive historical injustice and achieved tangible results,” said one judge. “Well written and engaging, the campaign made readers connect to the issue,” commented another.

Highly Commended:  End the Cladding Scandal , Daily Mail

The competitive nature of this category prompted the judges to award highly commended to the Daily Mail.

Their cladding campaign “shows the power of personal finance/money journalism and its ability to change people's lives”, one judge commented. The campaign was “impressive in its scope” and demonstrated “how coverage was developed from the initial story”, observed another.
